Dear Nobles,

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the Nobility of Mahi Shriners for placing their faith and trust in me and electing me to the exalted position of Potentate of Mahi Shriners.

This is one of the most crowning achievements that I have had the privilege of serving in. It is a great honor and something that will be part of my life forever.

Being a Shriner has always been something that makes me proud and makes me realize that there is nothing greater in life than doing for others, especially children. The innocence and dependence of being a child requires responsible adults to step in and to lend a helping hand, whenever needed.

What a great fraternity, we have, wherein we have the capacity to have a good time, enjoying each others company and at the same time, doing the work of the World’s greatest philanthropy, our 22 hospitals. Where we open our doors to all children, no matter what their creed, color or nationality and render to them the best medical care available, without charge, to that patient or their family. What a blessing and what a joy to be able to do our work and to see the smiles on the faces of the children in our hospital’s and their families.

It is with these thought in mind that I want to pledge to you, one and all, that I will do my very best to move Mahi forward and upward with grace and with confidence but and there is always the proverbial but, I am but one man and I can only do so much with my two hands, my heart and my mind, I therefore must have you, each and every one of you, walking with me, side by side, hand in hand, in order that we realize that “together we work and together we succeed”.

May God bless you each and every one of you and may God bless Mahi Shrine and our hospitals, the personal that make our hospitals the best that there is and the children that are in such dire need of our services. Isn’t it great to be a Shriner!

YITF,

Jerry
